Become #proud2bLithuanian Twitter curator!

Written by

Every week or so, LTUworld invites someone on the globe to be a #proud2bLithuanian: sole ruler of @proudLithuanian Twitter account.

For seven days or longer, someone will tweet why she or he is #proud2bLithuanian - perhaps because Lithuania is a free nation, or because it has world-class basketball, or perhaps because of our values: dedication, hard work, volunteerism, sacrifice.

For seven days or longer, he or she will be a global focal point for Lithuanians and those interested in the Lithuanian nation as well as in Lithuania itself.

After that, someone else does the same—but differently.

Last year a Lithuanian firefighter, Aidas Ardzijauskas, completed a 45 day run around the Baltic Sea through the territory of nine European countries, overcoming 1 865 miles. Now he is challenging human capabilities one more time – he is ready to run from Los Angeles to New York.

Global Lithuanian Leaders is awaiting for nominations of candidates for the Global Lithuanian Awards 2013. The term for the nominees to be submitted is 15th of October, 2013. Lithuanian around the world are invited to share the success stories of the global Lithuanians and people affiliated to Lithuania who have exhibited remarkable talent, exceptional vision and ambition in creating international opportunities for Lithuania. The European Commission earlier this year invited students at schools of art, graphics and communication from all the 28 European Union Member States to reflect on the contribution migrants make to societies in Europe.

This film relates how one country's burning desire for independence unified a diverse nation into a successful nonviolent revolution.
